Faces of IRCO

Faces of IRCO is an on-going series of monthly cultural workshops offered by IRCO staff and volunteers. Each month Faces of IRCO explores a different population served and represented by IRCO, allowing you to learn more about the many diverse peoples of Portland, understand the histories and current situations of their countries of origin, gain a broader understanding about their unique cultural traditions and even get a chance to sample some typical foods. Faces of IRCO - Cuba

On Wednesday, June 2, 2010 we met to explore the history, politics, cultures and peoples of Cuba! Cubans represented the 5th largest population arriving into the Portland area in 2009 and have been one of the largest populations served by IRCO for over 10 years. Cuban members of IRCO’s staff were on hand to share about their country, talk about the experiences of Cubans coming to the U.S., and answer questions about Cuba and Cuban culture.
