Direct Caregiver/Pre-CNA Training

This 56 hour program will provide students with the cultural, social and linguistic skills to assist in acclimating them to employment in the healthcare field. Topics include medical terminology, ethics, confidentiality, resident’s rights, infection control, medical and nonmedical emergencies, vital signs, body systems and assistance with activities of daily living. Students will be able to find jobs in residential care centers, adult foster care and in-home care where certification is not required. They can also go on to pursue training as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Classes are offered during the day, evenings and weekends.

Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years of age, pass a criminal history check and pass the provided entrance exam. In addition applicants will be required to show they can physically perform caregiver duties, hold a valid Oregon ID, and submit a completed and signed application no later than seven days prior to the commencement of the first day of classes.
